NexReader Privacy Policy

Effective October 16, 2026

In short: NexReader collects no data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no ads, and it never sees your documents.

This policy explains how NexReader ("the app"), a Markdown reader made by Phyo Myanmar Kyaw ("I", "me"), handles information. It applies to the app on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Your documents stay with you

The files you open or import are stored on your device, in the app's own folder. They are not uploaded to me or to anyone else. NexReader has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own.

No data is collected

The app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code from me or from anyone else. It does not collect, store or send your documents, their names, what you search for, your settings, any identifier for your device, or anything else about you. Your reading preferences and reading progress are kept on your device and are deleted with the app.

Information Apple shares with developers

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give me aggregated statistics, such as how many people installed the app, and crash reports. This is collected by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, not by the app, and does not identify you to me. You can turn it off in the same settings.

Wi‑Fi Transfer

On iPhone and iPad, when you choose “Receive over Wi‑Fi”, NexReader starts a small web server on your device so a computer on the same network can send it files. It runs only while that screen is open, is protected by a code that changes each time, is reachable only on your local network, and sends nothing to the internet.

Images in documents

If a document refers to an image by web address, NexReader downloads that image to show it. The website hosting the image will see the request, as it would in a web browser.

Selling data

I do not sell, share or rent any information, because I do not have any.

Children

NexReader collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
